Text New Ink on Paper Series
Currently working on a new ink on paper series. Manufactured goods, detritus, pollution, residues, excrement, cameras, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, monitors and rats are some of the details found in these drawings. Themes of consumption, dumping, amassing, storing, being monitored, wars between corporations that have usurped our governments run through these works. Our feeble attempts to repress reality by living in our bubbles imputing illusions of safety and comfort. When underneath it all is excrement and rubble, workers slaving in factories so corporations can amass more capital and territory vying against other corporations, which to us in our bubbles appears as if the same corporation is aggressing upon itself, whether they are handling drugs, food, arms—they all kind of look and seem the same these days. These corporations have their hands in all of them. While they amass more territory, the CEO’s take most of the money depleting the middle and lower classes, resulting in them having to buy these corporate goods that are so close to the detritus they are spewing out of their stacks, polluting the planet, that it seems we might as well be eating the pollution. *(Some additions have been made to some of the artworks since scanning)*
